You know that person that talks in the cbox? Well, she wrote up a rant on another forum that she belongs to. I'm reposting it here because its well put and its honestly one of the better rants that I have read as of late.
Not to mention that eventualy here we are going to get someone who uses Wapanese, its rather annoying so its getting poted here.

Anime.
It's one word, that results in about 50 percent of Wapanese (Wannabe Japanese) snobbyness. Originally it was a term coined in Japan to be a shorter version of animation, but Wapanese have done to it what they often complain is done to English dubbed "anime", and changed the meaning, so now the occidental meaning of anime is any cartoon made in Japan.
However this definition of anime has fallen out of use due to the large amount of Wapanese insisting the term can only be used on Japanese animation and by doing so have done what they again often complain about, they Americanized it.
Dubbed and cut
English dubbed anime is often refered to as the dubbed version despite the fact that all cartoons are dubbed. This can easily be ignored as only some people do this.
Cutting scenes out of anime is another common complaint and one this author actually agrees with for once. But bear in mind since anime is a cartoon and most cartoons target to a young audience this is to be expected and will probably be fixed when companys realize that there is a larger audience to be had for anime. So quit complaining, if you really find the cut anime so annoying go watch it in a language where it wasn't cut.
4kids
A company that often cuts and dubs animes. That everyone complains about, not even I like them. 4kids shows usually air on Saturday mornings and cater to the Saturday morning audience, which is mainly young childrens.
Most small kids these days can handle alot of violence and blood and the only reason these animes are cut the way they are is because some crappy parent will sue the company if their kid does somthing bad, and instead of blaming it on their lack of parenting skills they will blame it on random anime.
Manga
This accounts for around 30 percent of Wapanese snobbyness.
